Great Sensitivity but Archaic Drag System
This rod is fantastic (underlined, bold, italics, exclamation points) for detecting even the lightest of bites. So much so that if there’s even a slight breeze it’ll wiggle your bobber. Once I started using it, I couldn’t stop. I was missing so many undetectable bites on my other ice rods. The only thing that sucks with this rod is that it has a simple drag system which is essentially just a spring that’s pressing down on the reel with adjustable tension. It’s difficult to adjust the drag correctly if you’re not used to the rod. But for panfish and even a small trout, it doesn’t really matter much. Definitely worth the money and I’m going to buy a couple more for my girlfriend and cousins to use. Fantastic rod.
